Advantage:can seperate very complex mixture.Eg drugs,plastics,food and flavorings
:very small samples sizes
:separated components can be collected individually
: analyses can be highly accurate and precise

Disadvantage:take some times
:requires some technical skill and manual dexterity
:requires constant attention while the experiment is being performed
